This year of lockdowns you surely stayed at home. Because you all were so well-behaved, Santa Claus will have a lot to do this year. With this free pattern for Crochet Santa you make sure that he will not skip your home!
As I prefer to keep it small, Crochet Santa does not come in real size but of appr. 13 cm height. But he has lots of christmas spirit and, of course, small Crochet Presents! In my last post, I wrote a pattern for a Crochet Christmas Tree. Together with this Crochet Santa and his Crochet Presents you will have got all you need for just the right christmas feeling at home. Besides, Crochet Santa is also a perfect small decoration to share at the dinner table.
What’s still missing here are, however, Santa’s companions, that are his helpers (gnomes/elves), his reindeer and a sledge. As I had my own hands full with my little elves in the last couple of weeks, his (crochet) companions will join Crochet Santa next Christmas.

As Crochet Santa cannot come empty handed, you additionally find a free pattern for Crochet Presents in squared and rectangular form that can be sized to your own preference. With this you can easily pack own small crochet souvenirs under your Crochet Tree. I have to warn you, though, that I rushed a bit to complete the patterns before Christmas. I hope nonetheless that the instructions are clear and accurate.

Crochet Stitch Types
The following stitch types are being used:
- single crochet
- single crochet back-loops only (sc-blo) and single crochet front-loops only (sc-flo) (a how-to guide is provided in the pattern document)
- foundation single crochet (a how-to guide is provided in the Crochet Presents pattern download)
What do you need
- Super fine yarn (at a recommended hook size of 2.5-3.5 mm). If you use yarn of different brands watch out for the same yarn gauge to avoid a diverging pattern
- I worked with a hook of size 2.50 mm
- Scissors
- Fiberfill
- Darning needle
- security eyes of 6 mm size
