Smokey, the No-Sew Crochet Dragon

Meet Smokey, the no-sew crochet dragon! This adorable dragon is a special crochet project for those of you who love to crochet but aren’t fans of sewing. The entire pattern is designed to be crochet-only—no sewing required!

This pattern is great for beginners, but it does have a little twist: you’ll be starting parts of the dragon in front loops or connect other parts on the go. Don’t worry, though—it’s an easy pattern and your crochet dragon is finished in no time!

Although Smokey best enjoys to comfortably lie on your arm, it can also stand on its own. This 34 cm dragon (measured from head to tail using medium velvet yarn) looks adorable when made with plush yarn like velvet or chenille, making it irresistibly huggable. Worked with fine cotton yarn instead, Smokey reaches a cute size of about 8 cm.

Whether you’re a crochet newbie looking for a new project to build your crochet skills or an experienced crocheter seeking a new no-sew pattern, this dragon is just what you need.

  1. I bought this pattern and have been working it up. I’m at round 24, and the cooking is off. Could you please help?

    1. Hi! Of course, did you write me on Etsy too? I realized Rd 24 has indeed an error. It should be (1 sc x 6, 2 sc) x 3 (24)
